Our Speech Room Staples!

I love this Speech Room Staples link up with Speech Musings.  A perfect idea to sneak a peek into other speech rooms to see who is using what.

Here are some of my favorite materials from some very talented bloggers.
1.  If you have not tried Speech Tube, now is the time.  My students are pumped up for our social language lessons and the idea to incorporate popular youtube videos into therapy is brilliant by Speech Room News!

2.  I really enjoy being able to have app companions for language and My PlayHome Stores is one that targets so many goal areas.   A must-have by Teach Speech 365 for working with younger learners who love technology.

3.  Cooking in speech is just as much fun as technology!  Rachel Lynette's cooking recipes are perfectly proportioned for one and the targets of sequencing, following directions, and listening are all easily worked on in this yummy product.

1.  My SLPrunner products are made with my own students' language and learning needs in mind.  My go-to products are hands-down my monthly activities for language.  I have just updated the year full of language activities bundle by adding monthly data tracking forms to see progression over time.
2.  Since working on monthly theme-therapy, my life as an SLP has become so much more manageable.  Each month, I have $-saving bundles incorporating activities for a multitude of language goals and levels.  Here is October

Everyday tools for increasing expression.

I love to incorporate fun hands-on activities into my service time with students.  This is tricky at the middle level, but there are usually creative ways to approach descriptive language with materials that are cheap and easy to find.

Smelly Markers!
I could just eat the orange marker with its tangy candy smell.  These great tangibles are a fun tool to work on describing.  At level one, I have students get creative with naming the color (below).  Students provide a descriptive statement of the marker's scent for Level two (above).

Paint Swatches:
From fresh cut grass to sage leaves, your students will love acting as painting color pros.  Students can name the color and expand expressive language by describing the color in oral and written forms.

See how your students can become jelly bean connoisseurs on my
 Tasty Expression post.

Use these ideas for data points throughout the year!

Now tell me: What's your favorite color, scent, or flavor?

TpT Shining Stars Linky Party!

Mark your calendars for August 20th because TeacherspayTeachers is having a 1-day BTS Boost Sale!  These big sales happen once in a blue moon!  Most TpT Sellers put their stores on sale; plus you can use a special code to take an additional 10% off materials!

I'm so excited to host my first linky party!  I got the idea behind-the-scenes when I asked other SLP bloggers/sellers to share with me their favorite products.  It was fun to see whether or not personal favorites were best-sellers and also how difficult it was for many to name favorites.  Like the other specialists, I work hard to make all of my products shine.  However, these three stars are original materials that I'm particularly proud of.
I remember my grad school professor describing the prosody of voice as a roller coaster.  It just flowed to use the carnival theme for this intonation and prosody product. Vocal Coaster helps students use their voice for: Prosody, Emotion, Melody, Punctuation, and Word Stress which may also be tied in with Reader's Voice.  You can hear the laughter down the hall when we all experiment with our voices and bringing in my daughter's cotton candy maker makes it extra fun!

I had this idea before I began TPT and it took me about a year to put it together.   I wanted to grab the interest of my older students to capture a lot of language goals in this fun 60's themed product.   Included is a ton of figurative language,  perspective-taking, feelings, and inferences. I recently updated this product by adding data tracking pages.   So many middle-level crafts may be tied in with this product as well!

This back-to-school/fall themed product was a lot of work to put together, but I feel really satisfied with the results.  It can be used in its b/w printable form as a cut-and- paste activity or made into a book with Velcro strips for sequencing.  I leveled this activity to cover a wide range of learners.

Here are a few of my favorite go-to materials made by my SLPeeps:

Speech Room News- Yellow Brick Road Social Skills
An amazingly comprehensive social skills product which can be paired with video clips from this classic movie.  Like all of Jenna's materials, this one is easy to use and assemble and includes many extras such as parent letters and a reference poster.

Another excellent product for working on social language.  These adorable creatures target an array pragmatic language and perspective-taking skills.

This is one of my go-to materials!  The important skills of inferencing and deductive reasoning are targeted through fun riddles.   The number of categories and almost 100 stimulus cards with beautiful graphics makes this a product to use over and over again.

My SLPrunner store will be 28% off including already reduced bundles!  Don't forget to use the code: BOOST when you check out!  Happy shopping!!!
